One of my garden experiments this year is the tomatoes. They are all seed grown Roma paste tomatoes, which did very well last year, so figured I would build on success and grow them again. July 15 2024So far, it's been very interesting. I grew 7 seedlings, and you can see what happened with those on the article about aminopyralid herbicide damage in tomato plants. Because I was so disappointed in those tomatoes, I seeded another batch, which I thought might be too late. They grew quickly in their individual whipped topping containers, which is part of my growing set up. These were planted directly into the garden, with lobster remains and shells beneath them. The growth on them is phenomenal. They're growing like Jack and The Beanstalk. They aren't as tall as the original ones, but they are stocky and dark green, with lots of flowers coming on them. We'll see how they pan out in the end - will they surpass the others in production, or will the early success fizzle out? The question will be grow bags on the porch against the brick wall or garden, which is better? If you have questions for me, use the contact form, I answer every one.
